The staff of INSEAN includes 145 people, of which 43 research scientists and engineers.

Scientific and technical activities of the Institute are managed by the five Scientific Departments:

  • Resistance and Optimisation
  • Propulsion and Cavitation
  • Manoeuvrability and Seakeeping
  • Vibration and Noise
  • CFD

and the two Technical Units:

  • Model Design, Manufacturing and Equipment
  • Test Facilities and Technical Support Labs.
